Orbital rule 18: Orbital bony lesions


          Sclerotic lesions such as :-
           
1-Fibrous dysplasia(orbital roof).
          2-Meningioma en plaque(common in lateral orbital wall )(ch.ch. By bone sclerosis).
          3-Paget’s disease.
          4-Sclerotic deposits.
           
Lytic lesions such as :-
          1-Congenital defect in the greater wing of sphenoid seen in neurofibromatosis and encephalocele.
          2-Pressure erosion by a long standing lesion(arachnoid cyst , dermoid cyst).
          3-Destruction by orbital tumor.
          4-Destruction by direct extension.
          5-Destruction by metastases.
           If adult : lung , breast and kidney
If child  : neuroblastoma , Ewing ‘s sarcoma
