The supra sellar area is formed from the following:
1-Diaphragma sellae from it arises meningioma.
2-Supra sellar cistern from which arises arachnoid cyst.
3-Circle of Willis from which arises Berry aneurysm.
4-Optic nerve and Chiasm which give gliomas.
5-Upper part of the stalk giving glioma.
6-Hypothalamus giving glioma.
7- Anterior third ventricle giving colloid cyst and its recesses.
8-Tuber cenerium giving characteristic lesion hamartoma of tuber cenerium.
