Cervical lymphadenopathy rule 1 : Sites

There are 5 main sites for cervical lymph nodes.


1-Sub mental.
2-Sub mandibular(around sub mandibular gland).
3-Around jugular vein.
4-Deep to Sterno-cleidomastoid muscles.
Which is divided according to its location to hyoid bone into


-Upper deep cervical lymph nodes.
-Lower deep cervical lymph nodes.


5-Posterior neck compartment L.N.


Normal upper limit of upper deep cervical lymph nodes is 1.5 cm.
The rest of the lymph nodes are 1 cm.
